AZIONI DI MITIGAZIONE DELL’EMERGENZA CLIMATICA – ONLINE LO STRUMENTO DI RICERCA E APPRENDIMENTO INTERATTIVO
Active Philanthropy ha lanciato uno strumento interattivo, personalizzabile e facilmente condivisibile in grado di guidare le fondazioni ed enti filantropici nel processo di avvio o di rafforzamento della loro strategia di integrazione della lente climatica, in particolare per quanto riguarda lo stanziamento di risorse, indipendentemente dalle dimensioni del loro budget o dal livello delle loro competenze sul clima.
EUROPEAN PAVILLON: REIMMAGINARE IL FUTURO DELL’EUROPA IN SPAZI PARTECIPATI EUROPEI E LOCALI ALLO STESSO TEMPO
Venerdì 12 novembre si è tenuto l’evento di lancio dell’European Cultural Pavillon, presso le OGR di Torino, il programma ideato da European Cultural Foundation insieme a numerosi partner in tutta Europa.
Non si tratta di uno spazio fisico, ma un movimento culturale che promuove lo sviluppo di prospettive inedite sul futuro europeo, mirando ad avvicinare l’Europa alle comunità locali. Un’iniziativa per riflettere e affrontare alcune delle sfide più urgenti della contemporaneità, legate al futuro dell’alimentazione, alla gestione dei rifiuti, allo stato della democrazia, alla necessità di ascoltare la voce di chi è emarginato, per delineare insieme una nuova traiettoria proiettata verso il futuro. Fondamenta del progetto, la convinzione che l’Europa abbia bisogno di un padiglione – un rifugio, una casa – dove poter essere re-immaginata. Vogliono essere un luogo che offre spunti di riflessione più che soluzioni, uno spazio aperto europeo e locale allo stesso tempo
Durante l’evento sono stati presentati e hanno raccontato le proprie storie i primi 7 European Pavillon: Samuele Piazza (Curator, OGR Torino); Mabel Tapia (Deputy Artistic Director – Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid, and member of L’Internationale association); Fariba Mosleh (Deputy Artistic Director, Brunnenpassage, Vienna); Lorenzo Marsili (Artistic Director, Studio Rizoma, Palermo); iLiana Fokianaki (Founder and Director, State of Concept, Athens), Kerstin Jakobsson (Chair, ARNA Art & Nature, Harlösa) e Sepake Angiama (Director of the Institute of International Visual Arts, London).

Over the past 18 months, many funders (philanthropic and otherwise) – struck by the realization that so many of our global development gains were tenuous and reliant upon outside INGO actors – have increasingly sought to work with community organizations in order to reach the most vulnerable.
We applaud this transition. True community-based organizations (CBOs) are those that are born of community action and collaboration. They are made up of people from the community who have lived experience, and who have deep connections with others – their family and friends – who live there. True CBOs have special superpowers that enable them to effect and support lasting change in ways that other organizations and structures cannot.

Our financial accounting systems were designed by white men, for white men – and those systems are contributing to an “almost sociopathic” approach to long-term wellbeing, writes our columnist. Could a gender lens help us reshape an accounting system built on empathy and that works for the majority?
Financial reporting provides information for all investors, loan finance providers and suppliers, so they can make resource decisions for a business, in the expectation of financial returns. This underpins financial accounting standards and the IFRS, which oversees these standards, argues that this approach meets the information needs of the maximum number of users. An assumption I question, as this underpinning of financial accounting has become an apologist for exploitation and human rights abuse.
