Fondato nel 2006, l’Arab Foundation Forum nasce come associazione che abbraccia fondazioni ed enti filantropici localizzate o che operano nella Regione araba. Dopo mesi di pianificazione strategica e studio, l’Arab Foundation Forum ha deciso di rivedere i propri criteri di ammissione e strutturazione delle quote di partecipazione al proprio network al fine di creare un ambiente più inclusivo, che riflette al meglio i diversi ecosistemi in cui la filantropia opera, e facilitare ulteriormente le partnership e alleanze tra diversi attori.

It’s philanthropy’s Achilles heel. Foundation leaders, donors, professional athletes, corporate executives – all philanthropists – want to be good caretakers of their charitable wealth. They want their assets and profits to grow, so there’s more wealth to give. They also want to reduce their philanthropic costs and save money, so there’s more left to give to the causes they care about. Seems good, right? Wrong.
In their altruistic effort to be frugal, many donors hold back on investment in essential things like their own talent, strategy development, research, evaluation, technology, relationship building, and even their learning. They hold back investment in their grantees, too. They do this by setting arbitrary limits on how much money can be spent on nonprofit ‘overhead’ or by expecting to see grantees’ results without helping to fund an evaluation. In my latest book, Delusional Altruism: Why Philanthropists Fail To Achieve Change and What They Can Do To Transform Giving, I explore this type of destructive frugality and why it happens to all kinds of philanthropists.
BARILLA CENTRE FOR FOOD AND NUTRITION AND ECONOMIST INTELLIGENCE UNIT PRESENT FIXING FOOD 2021 REPORT
The Barilla Center for Food and Nutrition and Economist Intelligence Unit have presented their joint report “Fixing Food 2021: An opportunity for G20 countries to lead the way” examining how G20 countries are performing on the three pillars of food sustainability.
The report investigates the opportunity for G20 countries to drive change on food sustainability and the challenges these countries face. The report uses the three pillars of the Food Sustainability Index (FSI), developed by The Economist Intelligence Unit with the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition; food loss and waste, sustainable agriculture and nutritional challenges.
