“ORANGE THE WORLD: FUND, RESPOND, PREVENT, COLLECT”, DOMANI AL VIA LA CAMPAGNA CONTRO LA VIOLENZA DI GENERE
In occasione della Giornata Internazionale per l’eliminazione della violenza contro le donne, prende il via la campagna globale “Orange the World: Fund, respond, prevent, collect”, che durerà 16 giorni, fino al 10 dicembre, Giornata mondiale dei diritti umani.
Coordinata e promossa da UN Women, la campagna è una chiamata globale ad aumentare i fondi per iniziative a tutti i livelli, assicurare servizi essenziali per le donne vittime di violenza, in particolare aumento a causa del Covid-19, focalizzarsi sulla prevenzione, e raccogliere dati e utilizzarli in maniera strutturata per fornire supporto mirato a donne e bambine di tutto il mondo.
Questa campagna rientra nel lavoro portato avanti da UN Women in occasione dei 25 anni della Conferenza di Pechino e in vista del Generation Equality Forum in Messico e in Francia nel 2021, dove saranno lanciate nuove proposte e azioni per porre fine alla violenza di genere.

Philanthropy Advocacy, un’iniziativa congiunta di DAFNE (Donors and Foundations Networks in Europe) e EFC (European Foundation Centre), organizza un incontro con esperti del settore da tutta Europa. The coronavirus pandemic has shown how digital tools can foster online engagement that leads to real benefits for working people.
When stay-at-home orders swept across the United States in response to the coronavirus outbreak this past spring, workers’ rights advocates accustomed to in-person meetings had to adjust quickly—and many did. In April, thousands of supporters joined a digital workers’ town hall to learn about the issues facing Nashville’s low-wage workers amid COVID-19, compounded by a series of tornadoes that had recently hit the Tennessee capitol’s region. In May, Taco Bell workers in Michigan created an online petition with support from the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee, a group formed in the early months of the pandemic. That effort won them hazard pay and increased paid sick leave, among other benefits.
UNSEEN PEOPLE, INVISIBLE VIRUSES AND BLIND STATES: PROTECTING STATELESS PEOPLE IN TIMES OF COVID-19
Offered the option of being given one super-power which would you choose:
- Superhuman strength?
- Invisibility?
- The ability to fly?
There is one catch though – you cannot control the consequences.
Selecting superhuman strength might result in accidentally crushing the person you love; selecting invisibility means that society as a whole will be blind to you; and if you pick the ability to fly you might never come back down to earth.
