Ariadne (European Funders for Social Change and Human Rights) organizza una serie di webinar online sul tema “Gender Lens Investing”. Gli incontri si rivolgono alle fondazioni, membri del board, individui ad alto reddito, responsabili dei programmi, degli investimenti, e manager, e chiunque sia interessato a raggiungere la parità e la giustizia di genere.
I seminari saranno guidati da Jo Andrews, già Direttrice di Ariadne e co-fondatrice di Equileap. Le sessioni si terranno il 22 ottobre, 5 novembre, 18 novembre e 3 dicembre.

Charities say they are struggling to persuade the public of need to act rapidly on environmental issues.
Environmental organisations are struggling to communicate the sheer scale and complexity of the climate crisis to the public and funders. That’s according to a new report by the Garfield Weston Foundation which found that almost half of organisations highlighted lack of public understanding as their biggest challenge when it comes to the environment.
A ROLE FOR PHILANTHROPY IN GOVERNANCE AND DEBATE
This year’s presidential election season is showcasing the culture of debate that has taken hold of the United States.
Yet governance doesn’t just require good debaters, it also requires the soft skills of compromise, dialogue and empathy (CDE). Philanthropy could step in to kickstart the healing of our fractured society.
As a discipline, speech and debate builds a student’s confidence and communication skills to wade one’s way through life and reason is crucial in society. Many of these debaters, often from prestigious universities such as Harvard, Yale or the Oxford Union in the UK, find themselves in the corridors of power, as presidents, prime ministers or parliamentarians. However, there is an unintended consequence of hardwiring a child for debate, which we are now only really comprehending.
