Di fronte alla crisi, 17 fondazioni di comunità di tutta la Romania si sono riunite per raccogliere e mobilitare fondi per i servizi sanitari pubblici vitali e per i gruppi vulnerabili. Hanno contribuito a garantire e dirigere più di 1,8 milioni di euro in attrezzature mediche essenziali e aiuti di emergenza per i gruppi vulnerabili. Catalyst 2030 ha pubblicato il report, frutto della collaborazione di 4.000 imprenditori sociali in rappresentanza di oltre 1.600 organizzazioni, Getting from crisis to systems change: Advice for leaders In the time of COVID.
Al suo interno, diverse idee legate a 14 temi principali e numerose proposte trasversali volte ad abbattere i silos che ostacolano approcci olistici e a rendere più facile la collaborazione tra imprenditori sociali e altri attori chiave del sistema, a partire dalle istituzioni, per raggiungere insieme gli Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile.
WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO PRIORITISE CLIMATE CHANGE?
India ranks third in terms of absolute levels of carbon emissions after China and the United States. In a business as usual scenario, by 2030, emission levels are predicted to reach more than 4.4 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide (GTCO2) equivalent of greenhouse gas—up from 3 GTCO2 today—overtaking the United States as the second-largest emitting country. At the same time, India’s per capita energy consumption levels are about one-third of the world average and in 2018, central government data indicated that 17 percent of households did not have access to electricity.
AT EVPA, FIRST FEMALE CEO AND NEW BOARD CHAIR ASSUME ROLES AHEAD OF ANNUAL MEETING
The first female CEO at the European Venture Philanthropy Association has assumed her role this month. Former Novartis senior executive Roberta Bosurgi was appointed CEO in June, replacing previous CEO Steven Serneels who has now assumed the role of Chair of the EVPA Board.
KEEP THE UK IN CREATIVE EUROPE
Over 250 European cultural leaders and arts organisations have signed an open letter – drafted by D6 Culture in Transit – urging the UK’s Secretary of State, Rt Hon Oliver Dowden to reverse the decision to take the UK out of Creative Europe, the EU’s funding programme for the cultural and creative sectors.
