IL WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM LANCIA GIVING TO AMPLIFY EARTH ACTION
Giving to Amplify Earth Action (GAEA) è un appello ad agire per fare leva sulle le partnership pubbliche, private e filantropiche (PPPP) per scalare e accelerare le soluzioni per il clima. L’iniziativa mira a sbloccare circa 3.000 miliardi di dollari di finanziamenti annuali necessari a sostenere gli sforzi per raggiungere il net zero, invertire la perdita di biodiversità e il suo ripristino entro il 2050. L’iniziativa evidenzia il potenziale della filantropia per svolgere un ruolo di trasformazione, caratterizzandola come agile, tollerante al rischio, flessibile, paziente, equa e sistemica. Philea – Philanthropy Europe Association è partner dell’iniziativa.
THE BIG BRAINSTORM 2023
Il Big Brainstorm è un’opportunità per i giovani changemaker e attivisti di progettare il loro futuro. Con il sostegno della United Nations Foundation, i giovani leader di tutto il mondo si riuniranno per due settimane di progettazione per esplorare, fare un prototipo e lanciare iniziative per affrontare alcune delle più grandi sfide dell’umanità. When it comes to philanthropy, much has been written about the need to move to more trust-based grantmaking. Critical to transforming how foundations fund is to understand the evolving role of the program officer with respect to how we relate to grantees. As funders, we need to cut through bureaucracy, and create space to reimagine our roles in ways that shift and transform power dynamics between grantees and philanthropy. Many of our fellow funders, like Voqal, are leading the way, transforming the ways philanthropy works. We not only champion this change but want to do our part to make it more ubiquitous. And that starts with program officers.
PROMOTING WOMEN’S RIGHTS: INTRODUCING THE WOMEN’S RIGHTS RECOMMENDATION COMPLIANCE EXPLORER
The Women’s Rights Recommendations and Compliance Database offers nuanced data about the types of recommendations international human rights organisations make to member states and how and why states implement those recommendations. This data focuses on three recommendation-issuing international institutions: the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). It covers the years between 2007 and 2016 and extends to all of the countries in the Council of Europe.
