Partnerships

Assifero promotes and facilitates the creation and development of collaborations and strategic partnerships among its members, between Italian and international foundations and philanthropic organisations, other Third Sector organisations, and public and private institutions. Collaborative approaches, in addition to having a greater impact, offer a range of indirect benefits. They provide opportunities for exchange, dialogue, and learning, reduce the risks of self-centeredness and solipsism, and increase the impact of initiatives. This can release Third Sector organisations from the burden of multiple reporting efforts, backed by long-term resources. Finally, decision-making processes are more thoughtful, due to interaction with others.

Collaborative approaches in philanthropy span a wide range of possibilities, from forms of collaboration aimed at realizing a short-term activity or project, to strategic collaborations that go beyond individual activities and outputs, based on a shared vision and common values, with the goal of achieving a long-term mission and creating a deep and lasting collective impact.

On the occasion of the association’s 20th anniversary in 2023, Assifero’s National Board established a working group to explore the existence of collaborative initiatives, which are a sign of the association’s ability to forge strategic alliances and collaborations that are not merely occasional.
